Frequently asked questions

How do I play?

Each day there's one football word to guess — a tactic, a term or a player's surname. Type a real word of the right length and submit it. Each letter turns green (right letter, right spot), ochre (in the word, wrong spot) or grey (not in the word). You have six tries.

Where do the words come from?

Every word is built into the app and chosen by the date, so everyone plays the same word on the same day. Nothing is generated at random and the puzzle works fully offline.

What is the hint?

Once per round you can ask for a clue. It's written in the voice of a football commentator — atmospheric and on-theme — and it never reveals a letter or the word itself. It's there to nudge you, not to solve it.

Why did a hint or explanation look a bit off?

Hints and word explanations are AI-generated, so an occasional odd line can slip through. The word itself and whether you won are decided locally on your device, so a strange hint never changes the result — but if something looks wrong, email us a screenshot and we'll improve it.

The hint won't load.

Hints need an internet connection to reach the AI. If you're offline or it keeps failing, the app shows a fallback message and the game continues normally — you can still guess and finish the round.

Can I play in another language?

Yes. Open Settings → Language to switch between English and Russian.

Can I change how it looks, or turn off sounds?

Settings let you pick a color theme, adjust text size, and toggle sound and haptics.

How do streaks work?

Solve the daily word to extend your streak. Miss a day and the current streak resets, but your best streak and win percentage are kept. You can see them all in Stats.

How do I reset my progress?

Settings → "Reset statistics" clears your streak and win record. Deleting the app also removes all local data.
