This Privacy Policy explains how Pitch Perfect ("the app", "we", "us") handles information when you use the Pitch Perfect iOS application — a daily football word game in which you guess a football word in six tries.

The short version. Pitch Perfect has no account and does not ask for your name. Your streak, stats and settings are stored on your device. When you ask for a hint or a word explanation, your request is sent to our backend and our AI provider to generate the reply. We use Firebase for push notifications and analytics, and AppsFlyer to measure which ad brought you to the app. The game plays the same whether or not you allow tracking.

1. Information we process

a. Hint & explanation requests

When you tap "Hint", or read the word explanation after a round, your request is sent to our backend (a Cloudflare Worker, which forwards to the AI provider Groq) together with the day's word so the commentator can answer in character. The target word and the puzzle logic live on your device — the AI only adds colour and never decides whether you won. These requests do not contain your name and are not used to identify you.

b. Game data on your device

Your results, current and best streak, win percentage, achievements and settings (language, theme, text size, sound) are stored only on your device. "Reset statistics" in Settings clears your record.

c. Push notifications — Firebase Cloud Messaging

If you allow notifications, Firebase Cloud Messaging assigns your installation a push token so we can send reminders (for example, that today's word is ready). You can turn notifications off any time in iOS Settings.

d. Analytics — Firebase Analytics

We use Firebase Analytics to understand how the app is used (screens opened, features tapped) and to improve it. This includes app and device information such as device model, OS version, language and approximate region derived from IP — not precise location.

e. Attribution & advertising measurement — AppsFlyer

We use AppsFlyer to measure which marketing campaign led to your install. AppsFlyer processes device identifiers and install/session events. If you grant tracking permission, this may include the Apple Advertising Identifier (IDFA).

f. Diagnostics

We may receive aggregated crash and performance data to keep the app stable.

2. App Tracking Transparency

iOS asks your permission before the app can track you across other apps and websites. If you deny, AppsFlyer will not use the IDFA. Pitch Perfect plays exactly the same either way — no feature is gated behind it. Change it any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.

  • To send notifications you have opted into.
  • To understand usage and improve the app.
  • To measure the effectiveness of our marketing.
  • To keep the app secure and stable.

We do not sell your personal information.

5. Data retention

Data on your device remains until you reset statistics or delete the app. Hint and explanation requests are processed to produce replies and are not stored by us to build a profile of you. Data held by our providers follows their standard retention periods.

6. Children

Pitch Perfect is intended for a general audience aged 13 and older and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

7. Your choices

  • Notifications — turn off in iOS Settings.
  • Tracking — deny or revoke in iOS Settings.
  • Game data — "Reset statistics" in the app's Settings.
  • Requests — email us to ask a question or request deletion of data associated with your device.

8. Security

Requests to our backend are sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS). No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect the limited data we process.

9. International users

Our providers may process data on servers outside your country. By using Pitch Perfect you understand your information may be transferred to and processed in those locations.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above reflects the latest version. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
